We are thrilled to announce the next installment in our ongoing singles series. On December 6, we will release Bleached ‘Searching Through The Past’ worldwide as a limited edition 7” single (250 opaque red, 500 black) and at all DSPs. The single, features the two unreleased tracks “Searching Through The Past” as the A-side and “Electric Chair” as the B-side. Release details below.
Spin premiered “Searching Through The Past” today (October 14), and had this to say: “Months after beloved L.A. art-punkers and Smell disciples Mika Miko called it a day in late 2009, sisters Jessica and Jennifer Clavin dove right back into writing and recording together as Bleached. While they’ve definitely taken their sound in another direction (splenetic guitar moves have been swapped out in favor of softer, strummier, far stickier fare), the energy’s not so different at all. That is to say, they’ve still got it. "Searching Through the Past” is an unshakeable new cut from their forthcoming 7" single of the same, due December 6 on Suicide Squeeze.“
About Bleached “Searching Through The Past” + Suicide Squeeze singles series — Sisters of the moon, Jennifer and Jessica Clavin make up the Los Angeles band, Bleached. The songwriting-duo return with the follow-up to their Carter 7-inch, holding the rare soul of rock and roll for all to witness. The two new songs “Searching Through The Past” & “Electric Chair,” burn clear with energy and sly beauty. They embody the mutinous spirit of The Misfits or early Stones, married to the style of Stevie Nicks. Nothing wasted, and nothing else wanted. The a-side, especially, plays like something you’ve never heard before – impossibly catchy – it walks off with a sly smile, straight out of the aftermath of some social whirl. Order here.
In 1996, Suicide Squeeze began releasing 7-inch records as lifesblood, singles, mostly from Pacific NW bands appeared, documenting some of the most influential music of that time: Modest Mouse, Elliott Smith, 764-Hero, and Pedro the Lion: each played an important role. The label broadened its reach over the years (as well as its series of singles), continually releasing music by a diverse, yet select group of musicians, including The Melvins, of Montreal, HEALTH, Memoryhouse, Black Mountain, JEFF the Brotherhood, Dirty Beaches, and many more.
