Atlanta’s ruling garage rock daughters, The Coathangers, strike back with their fourth full-length album, Suck My Shirt, which drops March 18th on Suicide Squeeze Records. The band retains the alluring spontaneity and happy accidents of their early releases, but this time the (now) trio push sounds far more deliberate and locked-in than anything they’ve done in the past. Spikey, jarring guitar riffs, raspy vocals and solid melodic hooks are still apparent on their sophisticated side which sounds less like a jubilant version of Huggy Bear and more like the art-pop of late-era Minutemen. Soon the ladies take their infectious sass and unruly live show across North America with the Black Lips – making stops at this year’s SXSW, Burgerama and Spillover Fests.
