Listen to “I Root” premiere via Noisey.

Michael Nau returns today with new single “I Root” his third from the forthcoming Some Twist, out June 16th on Suicide Squeeze (in the US) and Full Time Hobby (in the U.K. & Europe).

There’s an undeniable beauty on “I Root.” Guitar, organ and bass work together in total harmony. Nau’s trademark humor is present and it’s deployed with sincerity on lines like “Everyone’s carrying something / Maybe you’re carrying me and I’m carrying you.”

“I Root” is a continuation of his recent string of stellar singles from Some Twist including “Light That Ever” and “Good Thing.” Those tracks affect a woozy but bright vibe that has recently caught the attention of radio across the globe including KCRW, BBC, Beats1, CBC and Radio France.

This week, Nau embarks on a short solo tour of intimate venues from Chicago to Nashville. He’ll then head to Europe for a longer headline run later this fall. Those tickets go on sale May 15th at 9AM British Summer Time. A full list of dates is below.
