Fresh off of their runway performance with Debbie Harry for Coach’s NYFW show, The Coathangers have added a run of NA dates, and today they premiered a new Callum Scott Dyson-directed video for “Crimson Telephone” via Collide!
Crook Kid says, “The song is about our intense and perverse relationship with our phones. (I had a red cover on mine at the time the song was written). They are a form of connecting and disconnecting, guiding and tracking, mentoring and judging. And of course, monitoring our actions. They know us better than anyone else. What we like and what we want. And oftentimes, ‘the more you see, the less you know.’ For the video, we were fortunate to connect with Callum Scott Dyson from England and work together on the narrative, referencing the film “Metropolis” and ideas of what a technologically obsessed future could look like for humans. We love Callum’s style, and it was amazing to see those concepts take shape in the video.”
“Crimson Telephone” is off of last year’s album, The Devil You Know, available now on limited-edition “BIMBO IN LIMBO” color vinyl.
