YAMANTAKA // SONIC TITAN are gearing up for their first run of dates in the US for 2013, starting next week with CMJ in New York. The band will be headlining the Pitchfork party on the Friday night as well as several other shows throughout the week. Time Out New York listed them as one of the top 6 acts to check out for the festival describing their sound as “Piano-driven prog tracks along with spaced-out sludge metal.”

The band also released the second track from their highly anticipated sophomore LP UZU today, the album will be released on Suicide Squeeze Records in the US and Paper Bag in Canada on October 29th. Pitchfork posted “Windflower” saying “It swirls into frame, and then it swirls past it, shimmering in the darkness exactly and with beauty” and states the track “overflows with poetic, grandiose melancholy, circling astrological and mythological themes from Journey to the West, the Buddhist Chinese myth the band says inspired the record.”
