The Coathangers released an alternate video of “Perfume” from their 2016 full length album Nosebleed Weekend premiering now at Bullett Media.

From director J. Trav: Last year I shot a video for The Coathanger’s track “Perfume” from their album Nosebleed Weekend. We filmed for two days in Long Beach, CA. We had a lot of discussions prior to the shoot and planned out a lot of fun, sun-drenched ideas.

Over the last decade I’ve worked with The Coathangers on a wide range of projects – music videos, photo shoots, tour docs, album artwork, merch designs, and various other creations. We even played a lot of shows together in Atlanta, GA. They are always willing to explore new visual interpretations of their music.

With “Perfume” we wanted to bring a sunny, dreamy, beach-y feeling to match the mid tempo track. The wardrobe played an important part and we weaved together the beach, car rides, a make shift raft-boat with a surfboard attached, and a rogue drone. (My drone lost battery and flew away never to return. Thankfully the shots were salvaged). The weather was perfect and for two days I captured these west coast ladies of leisure as the “summer stole the perfume from their eyes”

Don’t miss The Coathangers at Project Pabst in Philadelphia and Atlanta this fall!
