Los Angeles-based quintet, Object of Affection, have released their dreamy new single/video, “Through and Through.” Premiering today via FLOOD Magazine, the song is being released on Suicide Squeeze Records as part of the label’s Pinks & Purples singles series, “Through and Through” is an instantly intoxicating cut of reverb-drenched hooks that manages to seamlessly blend the mood and grandeur of post-punk with the energy and volume of alternative rock.

Featuring members of Fury, Death Bells, Lock, and Leather Slave, Object of Affection bring a punk/hardcore urgency to their music without sacrificing an ounce of blissed-out atmosphere. Where many post-punk purveyors get lost in the gloom, Object of Affection take note of the genuine melodic sensibilities that led so many of their ’80s influences. “Through and Through” draws on the primal pop of The Jesus and Mary Chain and the widescreen romanticism of Echo & The Bunnymen, creating a wall of overdriven guitars and thunderous drums that contrasts with vocalist Colin Knight’s warm croon. The result is a perfect two-and-a-half minute introduction to one of Los Angeles’ most exciting up-and-coming bands.

Through and Through” will be streaming everywhere tomorrow and can also be purchased physically as a limited floppy disk, available now.
